This is an example of what can be done when you mix vector illustration and pixel-based illustration like Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
It’s truly the best of both worlds. Vector shapes and just that. They are mathematical figures or “vectors” that map out a line or a curve. Join those lines to create an enclosed shape and now you have a form such as a “letter form” just like the typefaces or “fonts” (typeface family) on your computer.
In this example, the forms make up the stamp filigree and stamp edges, which remain sharp edged and precise no matter how large or small the image.
Then these forms were brought into Photoshop where textures and photographs were overlaid to create a faded and aged “yellowed paper” appearance.
